We've learned a lot about Wesley the past couple of seasons. Far from the supercilious prig that he appeared to be on BtVS, he is truly a man with a dark past. His father. The Council. His failure with Faith.
And though his move to LA and association with Angel and Cordelia seems to have helped him put those demons to rest, you have to wonder just how serene he really is. "Hooks" is a picture of Wesley in denial. And you get the feeling that soon, some truths will have to be faced.
