Melymbrosia

Ah, the joy of the incidental character! In "Into the Woods", an anonymous vamp addict managed to capture the imagination of many an author without speaking a word. Her sunken cheeks and vacant eyes spoke of a desperate and pathetic history, a far cry from the vampires we're used to seeing. Angelus, Darla, Dru - they all glowed with "health" and the dark joy of succumbing to the ultimate evil.

Yet this one was different. Melymbrosia gives this sorry character a backstory where despair and shattered hope reign. It's haunting and sad, and totally believable. Sometimes, being a vampire isn't what you thought it would be. Sometimes, you're dead before you die.
