Lar
You may have noticed by now that I'm a monster Faith fan. She was both the most densely layered and least explored character on BtVS. This past season has given us a deeper glimpse into her mind, but she still remains shrouded in mystery. It is up to writers like Lar, to poke and prod into her psyche, unhindered by traditional "family hour" television restrictions.
"Alabaster" is a little bit alternate-universe and a little bit "what if". Here we have what I call FeralFaith, a woman who is deeply disturbed, for whom pain is the most beautiful thing imaginable. It is the first part of the "Blood Simple" series, and there is no more apt title.
Because, really, it is all about the blood, isn't it?
"Lanciname" is another Faith story - darker in its own way. Faith is in jail, outwardly coping as well as could be expected. But at night, in the darkness of her cell, she eases her emotional pain and guilt the only way she knows how. With this story, Lar cements her position as one of the premiere Faith writers of the fanfic world.
And finally, the third in this unofficial trilogy. (I say unofficial because they really aren't related at all, but it's three Faith stories by one person - hence, a trilogy.) Angel can't make it to his weekly meeting with Faith. Wesley goes in his place. The two of them talk, fall apart a little bit, and end up building something that wasn't there before.
