Hth
Hth is one of those writers I enjoy immensly. Her stories aren't especially dark - she mentioned this when agreeing to let me archive the works below. But, they are wonderfully well-written, with an attunement to mood and scene that I relish.
"Sotto Voce" has the distinction of being the first poem archived on TDSoS. Tara as poet is a glorious idea, and fits in well with the character. She doesn't speak much, and when she does, the words are awkward and halting. Her eloquence is through her body, her eyes, and the few words she does use can be to great affect.
"I am, you know."
"What?"
"Yours."
So, in the true essence of "still waters run deep", Hth has given us a window into Tara's poetry, where the words flow like honey and the emotions are direct and clear. It's a beautiful piece of work, and I'm proud to have it here.
Then, say hello to the abrupt change. From Tara and Willow to ... Wesley and Angel. I've said it before, Wes has really grown on me. In "Black Shoe Diaries" - awesome title - a simple shopping excursion for shoes turns into a subtle exploration of trust and faith.
