Gail Christison
Most authors that attempt to analyze the interaction between Buffy and Giles take a very clearly labelled path. Buffy and Giles are in love. Buffy and Giles are merely close friends. Buffy and Giles are Slayer and Watcher, and no more. Gail, in her inimitable Epilogues and stand-alone stories, has taken the extra step, and attempted to show the complex nature of not only the Buffy/Giles relationship, but that of Giles and the rest of the Scooby Gang. Her thoughtful and beautiful prose never fails to entertain and inspire, and her stories are among the few that stand up to repeated reading.
The following stories have been included as a sample of her work, although I could just download her entire website and throw it up here. She's that good. But that would be redundant, so here are a some of my personal favorites. Enjoy, and let Gail know what you think!
