Elizabeth
There are characters that seem to be universally loved. Willow has a large following, as do Spike and Faith. Then there are those who have a more fractured fanbase - Wesley, for example. Or Tara. Or, the president of the Love 'Em Hate 'Em Club, Riley.
Or Kate. I've had mixed emotions about her myself. Loved her when Angel started. Hated her later, when she seemed completely unreasonable. And now, a growing appreciation.
Elizabeth dives head-first into Kate's psyche, exploring her conflicted emotions about her father, Angel, and the mess that is her life these days. Kate dreams, but they're not pleasant. She dates, but can't bring herself to try to make a connection. She talks, but doesn't seem to really say anything.
Then we have "Shadow Position".
I almost died. My mother may be dying. A dead man sits next to me.
The final scene of "Fool for Love" was one of the most affecting that the Whedonites have ever created. This is a glimpse into Buffy's head during those moments with Spike, and the moments after.
