Dreamsmith
So, how do you like your Buffy? Is she practically invincible, dusting vamps without a second thought, and finished by 11pm so she can still party at the Bronze? Do her friends support her unconditionally, so that she's never really wrong, and they're never really mad at her? And speaking of the Scoobies, just how perfect are they, huh?
Well, DreamSmith, much to my joy, has a slightly different take on events. Buffy makes mistakes, she is just a little afraid of her powers, and, most of all, is stubborn. Her friends are a little too much for her to handle at times, and they don't always know what to do with her. Xander especially comes across strongly.
This amazing story so perfectly captures the essence of what I want to do with this archive, it's scary. It's the summer after graduation, and no one escapes the emotional and physical turmoil that is Sunnydale.
Those of you who have read DreamSmith's interview here know that the character of Faith strikes a deep chord with him. In "Virtue of a Warrior" he gives Faith the opportunity to discover who - or what - she really is. It is painful at times, funny at times, and completely mesmerizing. It is also one of the best novel-length Buffyverse fics out there.
