Bulletproof

Faith. What a fabulous, wonderful, marvelous creation. Who else has been able to turn Buffy completely inside out, without her even completely realizing it?

And yet, she is so hard to write. She's more than South Boston slang and a tough attitude, as we have recently seen in the fabulous A:tS two-parter "Five by Five" and "Sanctuary." To put it as succinctly as is possible, the girl's got issues. And one of the biggest is her relationship with Buffy.

Many authors have examined the currents between the two Slayers, and in many different ways. They are lovers, they are enemies, they are an amalgamation of the two... any way you put it, they're a complete mess.

"Who You Are" takes a good hard look at Buffy through Faith's eyes, with Faith's interpretation. It's all about dominance and control, and a sick kind of obsession (needless to say, I loved it). bulletproof writes with an edgy anger that is gripping and frightening, and entirely plausible. This story will stick with you for a while, especially if you do as I did, and read it five times in a row.
