I spend way too much time contemplating life in Sunnydale. Not just the demons and vampires and Scooby Gang, but the rest of the town. Death occurs there constantly. To quote Snyder, horrible murders with hearts being removed. A school blew up, and a mayor turned into a giant snake.

And yet, life moves on. Students graduate, children get bussed to a different school, where their home town hovers over them like a stain. And as always, the most basic instinct is to survive.

I liked this story when I first read it months ago. Re-reading it has only increased its appeal.
