(aya here!)

Lookit!

They only took me five months (I started them when ames came to visit in May), but they’re done! Go me!

And check this out, too:

It’s a first sock. Yarn is Lime & Violet, in battleship. It’s much more pastel than I’d expected, but it sure is pretty. I see this more as an ames’ sort of yarn though. Pinks and blues and ivory, totally calls out her name to me.

Three months of not knitting SUCKS. Just so you know. I’m slowly working up the strength in my wrist. I can knit a couple of inches at a time now. It’s slow going, but worth it to not get that flippin’ freakin’ annoying tendonitis back again.

I have a second embossed leaves sock to knit – but the pattern book is in MA. I have a second cross-hatch sock to knit, but ditto the book situation. I could knit the second L&V zen, but I’m really thinking that I want to knit up my Duet Sock Yarn in lemonade stand. I mean, look how pretty it is:

Of course, it needs to be wound up, which means I have to dig out my swift and ball winder, but it could be neat to freak out my roomies.

Oh, speaking of roomies, I have a pic of my new digs. It’s very college-kid poor-chic looking:

Yes, a cooler is my nightstand. The bed is an air mattress, and I’ve got a spectator chair to sit in. The boys enjoy their view, which is nice. Please note that Stanley is staring at the blank wall. He loves staring at the wall. *shakes head* The boys also enjoy using the air mattress as a bunny trampoline. Ollie, especially, gets some air when he leaps out of his cage, directly onto the air bed. BOING!

I’ll leave off now, with a cute pic of Oliver:

Hark! An update!

My poor co-blogger aya hasn’t been able to touch the needles in weeks. :c I have not been blogging. The blog languishes, but I have been knitting my mojo off.  Witness:

lily's scarf - finis!

Lily’s scarf – finis! The scarf ended up being somewhat wide, which I actually like – it folds over naturally when you wrap it around your neck, so you get double warmth. Mmm. To compensate for this Incredible Auto-Doubling Feature, I knit a relatively short scarf. It goes once around the neck, ties once, and tucks fetchingly into the coat. I’ve got a bit more than half a skein left (this wasn’t quite a two-skein knit), so if Lily decides she wants a longer one, she can send it back and I’ll add on. Easy pie. Attentive readers of this blog will note a different background – no blue denim!  I took this picture at work, because I’ve been meaning to mail this thing out for a week now.  Yeesh.  The scarf is lying on the chair in my office.  I think I prefer the denim.

February Lady Sweater

The sweater is actually finished except for the buttons, but I haven’t yet taken a picture of it. I tried it on for the BFF, and she approved, so I may actually get the guts to wear it out in public. Eeeek. but look! I KNIT A SWEATER. And it is snuggly and warm and I think pretty flattering. I wish I could have made the sleeves longer, but whatever – it’s still cute. Buttons on this weekend. Wearing soon.

And in conclusion, a picture of my cat.

Stud.
He’s such a gentleman.

I may have decided to do NaBloPoMo for November. There could be thirty days of consecutive blogging here. Holy cow.

Gah.
